The Rock Island City Council met on Monday, May 24, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at a Special Meeting that was called by Mayor Mark W. Schwiebert for the purpose of reviewing a Resolution for the Quad Cities Criterium on May 31. The Special Meeting was held at Thoms Proestler (TPC) since the Mayor and Council were hosting the annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner there at this time. Present were Mayor Mark W. Schwiebert, presiding, and Aldermen Terry M. A. Brooks I, David R. Conroy, John E. Bauersfeld, Jr., Dan Rockwell, Evelyn "Evie" R. White and Ann Keefe.
The City Clerk read a Resolution allowing the Quad Cities Criterium to use a portion of IL 92 (First Avenue) between 17th and 18th Streets on May 31 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A motion made by Alderman Keefe and seconded by Alderman White to adopt the Resolution CARRIED on a Roll Call vote. AYES: Aldermen Brooks, Conroy, Bauersfeld, Rockwell, White and Keefe. NAYS: None.
A motion made by Alderman White and seconded by Alderman Conroy to recess to Monday, June 7 at 5:00 p.m. CARRIED on a Voice vote. The meeting was recessed at 6:05 p.m.
