    5.  Minutes of the Meeting of November 10, 2003.  (Motion whether or not to approve the Minutes as printed.)

     

    6.  Proclamation declaring Rock Island as a “Great American Smokeout Community” on Thursday, November 20.

    7.  Special Ordinance amending a zoning district and zoning map, changing the zoning at 8700 14th Street West from a Planned Unit Development district to R-1 district.  (Motion whether or not to consider, suspend the rules and pass the Ordinance.)

    8.  Special Ordinance authorizing acquisition of real estate at 1000 5th Avenue, 622 9th Avenue, 922 6th Street, 1514 6th Street, and 2200 1st Street.  (Motion whether or not to consider, suspend the rules and pass the Ordinance.)

    9.  CLAIMS:

 

a.       Report from the Personnel Department recommending payment to Attorney William Laird and Ricky Schmidt in the amount of $18,309.00 to close a workers’ claim.

 

b.      Report from the Personnel Department recommending payment to Servpro in the amount of $4,637.55 for cleanup services following sewer main damage.

 

c.       Report from the Personnel Department recommending payment to Betty, Neuman & McMahon in the amount of $2,578.88 for legal services rendered by Attorney Mark Woollums.

 

d.      Report from the Public Works Department recommending payment to Paragon Constructors in the amount of $7,200.00 for the 16th Street and 3rd Avenue Parking Structure Restoration.

 

e.       Report from the Public Works Department recommending payment to Frank Peeters Sod Company in the amount of $2,016.00 for the 2003 Sod and Tree Program.

12.  Report from the Community and Economic Development Department regarding a request from Deb Kuntzi of Loud Thunder Medical Billing & Consulting for permission to apply for a Special Use Permit to operate an upstairs office and first floor personal guest room/house at 1929 9th Avenue.   (Motion whether or not to allow Ms. Kuntzi to apply for a Special Use Permit.)

13.  Report from the Community and Economic Development Department regarding a request to waive the city’s portion of back taxes on property at 1800 78th Avenue West.  (Motion whether or not to authorize a waiver to the city’s portion of back taxes due on property at 1800 78th Avenue West.)

14.  Report from the Community and Economic Development Department regarding a renewal of a citywide New Home Property Tax Rebate Program for 2004 to 2007.  (Motion whether or not to renew the new Construction Property Tax Rebate Program for three years, through June 30, 2007.)

 

15.  Report from the Traffic Engineering Committee regarding a request from residents for Residential Parking on 10th Avenue between 32nd and 34th Streets, recommending approval of the request during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  (Motion whether or not to approve the request for residential parking from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. as recommended, and refer to the City Attorney for an Ordinance.)
